Presented by the Can Manufacturing Institute and Scrap University Kids

Attention schools and teachers! Get ready for an exciting and impactful contest for your 2nd-grade class. Join Scrap University Kids, the Can Manufacturers Institute, can manufacturing companies, and your local school in an epic competition!

Schools near seven aluminum can facilities in Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Pennsylvania, and Texas will compete against each other in this thrilling contest!

By participating, your 2nd-grade class will receive free copies of “The Girl Who Recycled 1 Million Cans” to inspire and educate your students. But that’s not all! Your school will also receive financial support from the local scrap yard for recycling aluminum cans, and there’s prize money for the top-performing schools!

Did you know that only 45% of cans get recycled in the USA? Let’s change that by teaching 2nd graders the importance of recycling aluminum cans, which can be recycled forever. It’s astonishing that in just 60 days, a can can go from the recycling bin back to the store shelf!

But wait, there’s more! Get ready to turn those cans into cash! Your local scrap yard will provide a collection bin for your school. Once the bin is full, simply give them a call, and they’ll come to empty it. We’ll keep track of the total pounds of cans your school recycles. At the end of the contest in May, the scrap yard will send a check based on the weight of the cans. The more you recycle, the more money your school will earn!

Let’s teach kids the value of never throwing a can in the trash. Instead, encourage them to save and recycle cans at your local scrap yard. Recycling is like magic, and together, we can make a significant impact while earning some extra cash for your school. Join us on this recycling adventure today!
